Glider families!

Here are a few items of interest for this week for the Gliders.

Meet #1!
It’s almost time for the first meet!  This weekend we are at Southhampton on Sunday afternoon.  We are finalizing the details with Southhampton and will have a more detailed email out later this week with times, directions and other important information.

Missing meets…
If you already know that your swimmer won’t be at a meet, please let the coaches know as soon as possible.  They are already planning the events for this week, so if you won’t be at this meet, let the coaches know immediately.  This makes it easier to plan the meet and not have to scramble to rearrange swimmers at the last minute.  Email the coaches at: [email protected]

Saturday Strokes and Turns practice rescheduled
We originally had a practice scheduled for this Saturday morning, however with schedules and the swim meet being an away meet on Sunday, we felt it best to move that practice to July 1 instead.  We will still have the Saturday practices on June 17 and June 24 .

Strokes and Turns officials
We are always in need of parents willing to be strokes and turns officials.  This position does require training, but the training is free and provided by the league.  If you would be willing to be trained as an official, the last training is this Thursday, June 8 at Westwood from 6:45 – 8:00pm.  Please reach out to me with any questions or for more details.

Parent Meeting – June 8th at 5:15
We have our parent’s meeting this Thursday during practice at 5:15 under the large pavilion.  This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, hear from Jenny, Mark and Coach Matt and ask any questions that you may have about swim team, the meets, practices, etc.  This is especially valuable for first-year Glider parents.

I do have a few 2nd half timer spots still open for Sundays meet at Southhampton.  Email me or sign-up on the website.
