Dear Glen Allen Coaches & Families,

We are looking forward to hosting the first swim meet of the season on Sunday, June 11th and would like to give you some helpful information.

Timing: The meet time is scheduled for 3:00. SRA warm-ups are at 2:15 followed by Glen Allen warm-ups at 2:30.

Parking: Unfortunately, parking is difficult. We have some space in our pool parking lot. Additional parking is located nearby at the baseball field and Southampton Elementary School on Prairie St. Please honor all "No Parking" signs. Parking is only allowed on one side of the street in the neighborhood and towing by the city is enforced. A "No Parking" sign on one side means no parking on that side for the entire length of the street.

Seating: Our visitors sit in the area on the short side of the pool next to the tennis courts. You can access this area over the steps/balcony just left of the pool gate. The seating is a grassy, tiered area. We recommend chairs and blankets.

Competition Pool Area: Only swimmers and meet workers are permitted inside the fence around the competition pool. This area will get very congested if spectators wander down to the pool area.

Clerk of Course:  Swimmers called to the Clerk of Course will report to the area in front of the baby pools near the restrooms. There will be a table set up in the spectator area for your swimmers to pick up their cards from your volunteers.  Parents can accompany their children until they are called  individually to line up by the Clerk of Course. Parents are not allowed to accompany children once they are seated on the Clerk of Course benches or to the blocks.

Food: We are pleased to announce that  Weezie’s of Carytown will be running the Swordfish Cafe this season.

Our feature dinner on Sunday will begin at 4 pm, and will consist of  housemade BBQ on a Brioche Bun which includes 2 choices of sides, Cole slaw, baked beans, garden salad, or chips for $8.00.  Our regular snack bar menu  will be available also, but please feel free to bring snacks/dinner/drinks.  KING OF POPS will also be on hand with their amazing popsicles $4 each.

Safety: Once the meet starts, swimmers and their siblings are not allowed in the lower pool, on the slide, on the tennis courts or playground.

See you Sun. June 11th and good luck!

    Kristen Mullins
