Champs Availability
Good afternoon,
One or more of your swimmers have made a qualifying time for this year’s championship meet. Attached you will find the list of swimmers and the events they have qualified for up to this point.
For those that are new to champs qualification, champs is a one day meet which includes swimmers from each of the 19 teams in the league. It will take place during the day at the SwimRVA pool on Wednesday, July 26. It’s a fun and exciting meet, and considered a nice bonus for our swimmers to be able to improve their times, and race against the league.
Not every swimmer who is qualified is automatically entered in their qualified events however. We are allowed to enter two swimmers per speed category per event in the meet. Our turnaround for meet entries is also very short. We will need to have the entries completed on the Thursday after the last Monday meet.
We have attached the current qualifying events for each swimmer so you can check which of your swimmers have qualified and for how many events so far.
In order to help us do the entries in a reasonable time frame we ask that parents please reply to this email with your availability for the meet. Please reply with one of the following:
- Available all day
- Available part of the day (please be specific)
- Not available
We will make every effort to track down all swimmers who have qualified to get a response on availability, but the reality is we are not willing to take a chance on entering your swimmer if we do not hear back from you before Tuesday evening, July 18. We cannot make changes to the entries for this meet once it is submitted, and we are not willing to risk another swimmer missing a chance.
Even though we can only take two swimmers per category per event, our goal is to take as many qualified swimmers as possible. We will make every effort to get every swimmer who is available into the meet.
