A few miscellaneous items today.

1.  We would like to try a new meet notification process to help the coaches out. As you may know, the coaches spend a significant amount of time each week preparing the entries for each swim meet. They have to balance swimmer capability, competitive classifications (Novice, R, X, XX), league rules on number of entries per event, among other things. One of the harder things they manage is swimmer attendance.

To make this easier to manage, we are going to move to a meet management on our website. This allows you to indicate if your swimmer(s) will attend or not attend a meet. Please use it in both cases.

• To use this tool, go to our website and open the Swim Meets page under Calendar: https://gagliders.swimtopia.com/swim-meets
• Select the “Meet Entry button next to the meet you’d like to update.

• Select the Edit button to update your swimmer’s status for the meet.

• Update your swimmer’s status and Save.

• If you want to, you can leave a note for the coaches – used for attendance related notes (arriving late, etc.) -this is not to be used for telling the coaches which events your swimmer wants to swim.
• After saving, you can also review volunteer slots still open for the meet. Please use this, particularly if you haven’t already met your obligation.

2. Ahoy, Swimmers! It’s a Glider Life for me! 🏴☠️**

Arr mateys!🌊🦜 Our next swim meet is just around the corner, and we're setting sail with a swashbuckling theme: "It's a Glider Life for Me!"🏴☠️ Dust off your eye patches, polish your cutlasses, and prepare to conquer the waves like true pirates! Swimmers, coaches, and parents are encouraged to embrace their inner buccaneer. Best-dressed pirates will receive a special prize! 🏴☠️⚓

3. Charity Spotlight: Henrico Food Bank

As part of our commitment to community service, we're partnering with the Henrico Food Bank. Please bring non-perishable food items to the meet. Let’s fill our treasure chest with kindness and support those in need!
