Glen Allen Gliders,

Congratulations again for a great 2023 Swim Season! We had a lot of fun and are very proud of the work put in by all of the swimmers and coaches this year! We wanted to do a final wrap up for the season before Kristi and Mark start thinking about next season! I do want to share a few thank you notes! 

- Thank you to all of the swimmers for their efforts this year and especially for the good sportsmanship that we witnessed at practices and the meets!
- Thanks to our parent volunteers who make our meets run so efficiently!
- And thank you to our coaches for bringing some energy and excitement to the team this year!

Survey 

We are looking for ways to improve the Glider experience and would love to get some feedback on the season and your experiences this year. We've put together an anonymous survey that we would love for as many families as possible to fill out.

Champs wrap-up
Our 2023 Champs was another success for the Gliders! Overall we finished in 8th place, which based on our team size is where we expected to finish, but more importantly, the swimmer results were outstanding! 

- 41 of our 58 swimmers set at least one personal best at Champs!
- 74 of our 131 splashes (individual events) were PRs!
- 28 of our splashes resulted in a higher swim category (e.g. moving up to R from Novice)
     - 15 new R times
      - 8 new X times
      - 5 new XX times!
- Even the swims that weren't PRs were well swum and showed a lot of effort.

We had 6 Glen Allen records set at Champs this year! Congrats to the following new records:
- Cameron Cook broke his own 15-18 year old Men's 100 yard freestyle record with a 48.06!
- Brady Bever broke the 15-18 year old Women's 100 yard freestyle record with a 54.00!
- James Edwards broke the 13-14 year old Boy's 50 yard Breaststroke record with a 32.32!
- Cameron Cook and William Edwards beat the old 15-18 year old Men's 50 yard breaststroke record! Cameron had a 29.30 and William had a 29.21!
- The 15-18 year old Mixed 200 yard freestyle relay team of Cameron Cook, Brady Bever, Lindsey Johnson and Judson Lifsey smashed the old record by almost 2 seconds with a 1:34.50!
- The 15-18 year old Mixed 200 yard medley relay team of Carson Williams, William Edwards, Lindsey Johnson and Brady Bever set a record with a 1:47.95!
