All,

There are a few updates for swim team today, please review the whole email so you don't miss any critical information:

1. The pool is closed today (Tuesday, May 30) due to the weather, so practice is cancelled. We hope the weather will be better tomorrow.

2. I am in need of getting several more critical volunteer positions filled. These positions require you to attend a training session, but this year, those sessions are either in person later this week, or can be done online via a Zoom session. Please let me know as quickly as possible if you are willing to try one of these so I can send you the training information:

Verifiers: Verifies that the event results were recorded in the computer accurately. We need a few more to help fill in all 6 meets.

Strokes and Turns Officials: These are the officials that determine if swimmers are performing strokes legally and issue DQ slips. It is helpful to have previous swimming experience, but not 100% required. We need at least 2 more if possible.

3. Sponsors - I'm still looking for a few more sponsors to help us this year. If interested, let me know. Our sponsors help us with some of our supplies (kickboards, etc.) and help us supply a team shirt for every swimmer.

4. Team Store: Our team store is still open for orders until June 1st., so if you need any Glider gear, now is the time to order!  There should be no shipping fees as they will all be delivered to the pool together: https://virginia-swim-shop.shoplightspeed.com/summer-league-teams/glen-allen-gliders/

5. Team Swim suits - NOVA will be at practice starting at 4pm on Wednesday, June 1 if anyone needs swimsuit fitting/ordering. They did ask that swimmers see them before they get wet in the pool!
