Glider Families,

Welcome to our 2023 swim team season! We can’t believe it’s already been a year, but summer is quickly approaching. We will officially kick off our practice schedule tomorrow, May 22nd, starting with our 8 & Under swimmers at 4:30pm! We will only offer afternoon practices Monday - Thursdays until Henrico County lets out for the summer. Please see our website for specifics on practice times. Due to the craziness of the first couple of weeks, we recommend your swimmers come dressed and ready to swim! Our swim reps, Mark Schuetze and Kristi McKeag, will be at practice tomorrow to help sign in and guide families.

The coaches have been in the pool this weekend, and while it feels warmer than previous seasons, it is still a little chilly, so make sure to bring some extra towels to warm up after! 

This summer, our coaching staff will be led by Maddie Schuetze and Adam Huffman. This will be our fourth season coaching the Glider team and we are excited to bring our memories, passion, and skills to make it another great season. We will assisted by Riley Speidell and Judson Lifsey, who will be assisting with our younger swimmers and helping spread spirit and fun across our team.

Our coaches cannot wait to see all of our returning swimmers and welcome in new families as well to a sport we all love! This season, we will be spreading an emphasis on sportsmanship, strategy, and spirit. We know that every swimmer brings a unique voice to our team and we cannot wait to teach and learn about each of them. We know just how fun swim team is to the kids and we want our families to share that excitement. Please reach out to our staff if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. Swim team runs on communication, so be sure to keep our coaches in the loop with any important information you might have!

Lastly, please make sure you have completed all proper registration through our website. If you have any questions about registration, volunteering, or our swim shop, please reach out to Mark and Kristi. We are still looking for swim team sponsors! Sponsors will be advertised at home meets on our 2023 banner and on our blocks, in addition to a lot of other awesome features! See our website for more information.
