Gliders practice starts Monday!!
All,
We are very excited that Glen Allen Gliders summer season starts Monday night with practice! Here are just a few reminders about practices.
1. Make sure to bring something warm to change into after practice, or maybe an extra towel. Even when it’s hot out, it can get chilly after being in the pool.
2. Most of our practices, particularly this week and morning practices during the summer are held when there are no lifeguards on duty. It is important for swimmers to remain out of the pool except when directed by the coaches. This is particularly true for the swimmers that are not currently practicing, we would appreciate them not playing in the shower area of the pool. This is mostly a safety issue, as we don’t want anything to happen to ruin our summer.
3. Practices and weather. We generally practice rain or shine, as long as there is no lightning or thunder detected in the area. We do make some exceptions for heavy rain, if the visibility in the pool is bad. It would be a best practice for you to check your email prior to leaving for practice, as we will email blast a message out if there are any changes to our practice schedule.
4. Also, if you have any questions or concerns for coaches, please wait until after the practice before talking to the coaches. Because of the number of swimmers, coaches need to be focused on the pool and may not have the opportunity to address questions and concerns. If Kristi or Mark are at the pool, you can address concerns with them as well.
5.
We hope to have a fun and safe swim season, and are glad you’ll be a part of it.
Mark and Kristi
