    Practices start tomorrow

    All,

Glider swim season is finally here! Practices start tomorrow morning, so I wanted to send a few reminders and reinforce a couple of things before everyone shows up.

Please be patient with us as we work kinks out of our practice plans. Things are different this year for obvious reasons, so we may need to modify things on the fly!

Please note that Friday practice this week is canceled so the pool can be used to get lifeguards certified to allow us to open the pool to more members.

Current government guidelines allow us 24 swimmers in the water at a time, so we will be doing a combination of swimming, waiting to swim and dry land exercises. We are doing our best to manage the guidelines against our swim team size. I've attached an extremely high quality, professional graphic showing the pool layout for practices. Please review before you come to practice.

As mentioned in my last message, we have some new procedures we have in place due to COVID-19. If your swimmer has any of the COVID-19 symptoms, please remain home from practice.

    1. All swimmers will enter through the side gate (to the left of the front office) and will place their stuff in the designated area.
    2. Swimmers will check-in with Coach Kelly and be assigned a lane. They will then sit in a chair behind that lane until told to enter the water.
    3. During practice, swimmers must listen to coach instructions so that we can have a safe and fun practice.
    4. Once practice is over, swimmers must quickly clear out of the pool via the gate next to the snack bar so that coaches have time to sanitize and rearrange the deck for the next practice.

Due to deck capacity limitations, we are requesting that parents not attend practice if at all possible. Parents are welcome to wait in the parking lot for practices to finish.

Exceptions may be made for parents of very young swimmers, but we request that they remain socially distanced from the swimmers and other parents while in the pool area.

Note that the bathrooms will be closed during practices except for emergencies, so please have your swimmer use the bathroom before leaving home. Also, no changing will be possible at the pool for practices.

If there are any questions, please reply to this email and I will respond as quickly as I can.
