    2020 Gliders swim season

    Hello Gliders!

We hope everyone is well, healthy and safe during this crazy time. Hopefully, everyone is getting adjusted to these new changes. I wanted to provide an update about this season since we are under the Stay at Home guidelines into early June.

Kristi and I have been meeting with JRAC, and the Glen Allen Pool Board has met to discuss impacts to this season. More information will be coming, but right now there are too many unknowns to provide much concrete detail. For now, we are holding off on swim team registration until we know more.

Here is what we do know about the swim team season:

We have been meeting with the other swim teams, and are monitoring what USA Swimming and other leagues are doing. Right now, we want to have a swim season, but obviously will have to make modifications to what the season may look like.  We are exploring lots of options, including shortening the season, extending the season, modifying meets and more. Right now, everything is on the table since there is still too much unknown to predict when we may be able to get in the water.

I'm sorry that I don't have anything more concrete to tell, but I did want to make sure that everyone is aware of the discussions that are happening. If you do have any thoughts or feedback for us to consider, please email us at: [email protected]

In the meantime, here is some dryland training for the swimmers to get in shape for when we do get in the water!
