    Gliders Meet 4 @ CCV

    Glider families -

Meet 4 is upon us and this week we are at CCV for our final away meet of the season.  Details from CCV are below.

    Meet Entries
Preliminary meet entries are attached to this email.  As always, these are subject to change as last minute changes will occur!  Please let us know if there are any issues with the entries, particularly if your swimmer is on the list and won't be there.

    Volunteers
We are in need of several volunteers for the meet on Monday.

Strokes and Turns (You know who you are) - I need both a first and second half S&T judge

Timers - I need one first half timer and 4 2nd half timers

Verifier - CCV has asked if we could provide 2 verifiers, so I need a 2nd one for Monday.  If anyone wants to do this and be trained, I am in need of new verifiers for next yer, and this would be a good introduction.

    Meet Details
    Dear Glen Allen Swimmers,

The CCV Devilfish are looking forward to hosting your swimmers and families at CCV this Monday, July 1! We wanted to share with you the following information that should help the evening run more smoothly.

Meet Info:The meet will begin at 6:30 p.m.Your team warm-up will be from 6:00 to 6:15 p.m.The competition pool is an 8-lane pool so you will need 12 timers per shift.

Parking:  All parking for the meet will be directed to the lower lot, located at the west end of the aquatics complex. Spillover traffic will be directed by security guards as needed. Parking is strictly prohibited on St. Andrew’s Lane, just to the north of the main clubhouse, out of courtesy to our neighbors. It is best to enter CCV's main entrance off Three Chopt Road and proceed to the first left turn – you will pass the pools on your right and then reach the parking area.

Seating: The visiting team side of the 8-lane pool deck is the north side, and there will be bleacher seating for watching the meet. There is also plenty of room for your families (bags, coolers, and all your team’s gear) on the left side of the Zero-Entry Family Pool, straight ahead upon entering the Gatehouse. Please note that this pool is entirely closed for the meet’s duration – it is impossible to safely accommodate children from both teams, and we ask that you inform your families that there will be no recreational use of this pool.

Food: The Poolside Café will be open until 9:00 p.m, our menu is attached below. Please be advised that the Café only accepts cash.

Weather:If there is thunder or lightning, it will be necessary to clear the pool decks, and guests are asked to wait in their cars until a determination can be made.In the event that inclement weather causes a delay in the meet, we will follow the JRAC Rule Book and wait one hour from the stoppage of competition before determining if it is safe to continue.Let’s all hope for great weather!

We are looking forward to a great meet with you! If we can provide anything for your team or help with any questions, please let any of us know.

Thanks so much, and we will see you on Monday.

    Best regards,

Scott DeRosier, Erin Jewett & Samantha Wishnack
