Our first meet is upon us and we couldn’t be more excited! Sunday, June 9th - 4:00 start. Check in begins at 3:00.  We are visiting Westwood.  See below for meet details from Westwood.

We still have some volunteer positions open for our first meet. Please let us know if you are able to fill one of these spots!

• (2) Mite parents - Needed to help shepherd the mites to their events for the first half. Ideally, the mites all sit together with the mite parents and the mite parents help get the swimmers to the Clerk when their events are called. We will have a mite area selected for the parents and provide entry lists for the mite events. We have 2 parents already, but feel 4 parents would be helpful.

As mentioned in the meet details, bring chairs to sit on and games to play while we wait. Reminder that there should be no alcohol at the meet.

Meet Entries should be posted (on the team bulletin boards) by the coaches once completed, and an email will be sent out with entries. Please remember that entries are always subject to change, so make sure to check the updated entry list when you check in at the meet.

Please consider bringing extra towels/warmer clothes for your swimmer at the meet. Even if its comfortable temperatures, wet swimmers will be chilly. Hoodies/sweatshirts and pajama pants are very popular with the swimmers.

The Westwood Waves are looking forward to hosting Glen Allen swimmers and families at Westwood on Sunday, June 9th. We want to share the following information with you to prepare Glen Allen swimmers and families for a great meet at Westwood.

Meet Info: The swim meet is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm on Sunday, June 9th.
Westwood is scheduled to warm up from 3:15-3:30pm, and Glen Allen will follow from
3:30-3:45pm. The competition pool is a 6 lane pool, so 9 timers are needed per shift.

Parking: Our address is 6200 West Club Lane, Richmond, VA 23226. The pool entrance faces Pollard Rd, but please don’t park on this road. Since parking spaces at Westwood are limited, we recommend that you park at Richmond Medical Park. This lot can be accessed off Bremo Road. The parking lot in the back of the building has a path that takes you to the nearest pool entrance. There will be parking spaces reserved near the pool entrance for your swim coaches and swim representatives.

Guest Team Seating: Visiting team seating is located to the left of the pool, as viewed
from the pool entrance. There are a limited number of chairs and tables, so your families will want to bring extra chairs and towels/blankets for seating.

Food: Our dining room provides a cookout for the swimmers and families during the meet. They set up behind the announcer’s stand. The snack bar will also be open with a limited menu. Only cash is accepted. Westwood will provide meal vouchers for coaches’ dinners. Kona Ice will be at Westwood for the duration of the swim meet.

Inclement Weather: In the case of inclement weather, we ask that swimmers and parents clear the pool. Guests are asked to wait in their cars until a determination can be made. We will follow the JRAC rule book in the event of inclement weather.

Please and Thank You: Please ask your swimmers to avoid the tennis courts and the
playground. The pool is closed throughout the duration of the swim meet, and ALL
swimmers should stay out of the shallow end and the diving well throughout the meet.

Clerk of Course: Our COC volunteers request that a volunteer from Glen Allen is stationed at COC for Mite events to help with placing the kids in their heats. If Glen Allen is in agreement, please send the volunteer to COC for Mite events. We appreciate the consideration.
